This week, the #EscapeVan arrived in Anenii Noi, offering an interactive learning experience that helped visitors better understand the realities of #human #trafficking. Through immersive scenarios, participants discovered how traffickers operate, learned to identify warning signs, and gained practical knowledge to help protect themselves and their communities from exploitation. Implemented in partnership with AO „Inițiativa Pozitivă”, the Escape Van created a safe space for learning, reflection, and dialogue, bringing relevant information directly to the community. Representatives of the implementing partners, „Interaction” and „Resonance”, from Tiraspol, Left Bank of the Nistru River, also joined the Escape Van information session in Anenii Noi and took part in this important learning experience. This activity is carried out within the framework of the One #UN Joint Action “Cross-river Support for Human Rights”, funded by Sweden, and contributes to ongoing efforts to promote human rights, strengthen community resilience, and prevent exploitation. Access to #healthcare starts with access to #information. Recently, IOM - UN Migration in the Republic of #Moldova’s Health Mediator met with refugees and third-country nationals in vulnerable situations residing at the Refugee Accommodation Centre in Dondușeni to provide essential guidance on navigating the healthcare system in Moldova. ⚕️ #Tuberculosis prevention and care remain essential in #humanitarian and #migration contexts, particularly where #displacement can increase barriers to timely diagnosis, continuity of treatment, and access to #health services. 🩺 IOM - UN Migration, with support from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), conducted an evaluation mission in the Republic of #Moldova to assess the application of the Interagency Field Guide on TB Prevention and Care among Refugees and Other Populations in Humanitarian Settings. 👏 Led by Dr. Kolitha Wickramage, the mission brought together IOM and CDC experts to engage with Moldova’s health authorities, including the Ministry of Health, the National TB Programme and the National Public Health Agency. 📑 The mission assessed how the Field Guide was used during the initial phase of the Ukrainian #emergency response, as well as its relevance and contribution to strengthening TB prevention, preparedness and care for #refugees and other populations affected by humanitarian and migration contexts. ✍️ The meetings provided valuable insights to further strengthen TB-related preparedness, response, and services in humanitarian and migration-related contexts in the Republic of Moldova.
