A pageview only counts once we see a real interaction — a scroll, click, key press, pointer move, or touch. There is no bare time-on-page threshold: a page that loads and sits idle is never counted, no matter how long it stays open. We also drop known automation signals (headless-browser fingerprints, sandboxed link-scanner viewports) outright, even if they fake an interaction.
This is deliberately strict. It undercounts genuine visitors who read a page without ever moving the mouse — a trade-off we accept over letting bot traffic inflate the numbers on a page whose entire point is that you can trust them.
