Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan’s meeting with an OMV Group delegation
Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan received today, at Victoria Palace, a delegation from the OMV Group led by Emma Delaney, Chair of the Executive Board and CEO of OMV, and interim member and Chair of the Supervisory Board of OMV Petrom.
The Prime Minister and the new CEO of OMV discussed developments in the energy sector, in the context of fuel price fluctuations driven by international conflicts and supply crises.
An important part of the discussion focused on the Neptun Deep project, a strategic investment for Romania, in which the Romanian state, through Romgaz, is collaborating with OMV Petrom. The project is progressing according to the established schedule, with actual production set to begin next year.
In this context, the Head of the Executive emphasized the importance of exploiting natural gas resources in the Black Sea for the Romanian economy, which will contribute to strengthening the country’s energy security.
“Completing the investment and commencing gas extraction from the Neptun Deep perimeter must remain government priorities, so that Romania can harness its Black Sea resources for the benefit of the national economy and the entire region. We need to find effective forms of cooperation to ensure action convergence on this strategic project for both parties,” Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan stated.
Prime Minister Ilie Bolojan also conveyed thanks to the OMV Petrom team for its transparent collaboration and constant dialogue with the Romanian authorities.
The meeting at Victoria Palace was also attended by Mihai Jurca, Head of the Prime Minister’s Chancellery.
