Every year, up to $11 billion in unopened, unexpired medicine is destroyed, while millions of Americans can't afford their prescriptions. SIRUM, led by Kiah Williams, is closing that gap. They’ve created a system to collect unused, unexpired medicine from pharmacies, manufacturers, nursing homes and individuals, and redistribute it to patients at a price they can afford. Since becoming an Audacious grantee, they've grown from 5 states across the U.S. to 11 and serve more than 850,000 patients, turning donated medicine into a steady, reliable supply for the people who need it most. #AudaciousProject #SIRUM

Thrilled to see Audacious grantee Wawira Njiru named on the TIME100 Next list for her incredible work through Food4Education! 🎉
Honored to be included on this year’s TIME100 Next list by TIME Building isn’t easy, and being seen isn’t guaranteed. The world doesn’t always expect world-class businesses to be built in Africa. And it certainly doesn’t expect to find one in school feeding. I’m grateful and incredibly proud of everyone at Food4Education who makes recognition like this possible. Thank you, Trevor Noah, for the incredible note. Thank you for seeing us.

As climate change displaces more people each year, Audacious grantee International Refugee Assistance Project is building the legal pathways they'll need. This week's launch of their Immigration Solutions Accelerator marks an important step toward a U.S. climate mobility agenda shaped by the communities most affected.
Yesterday, IRAP brought together advocates, experts, and partners during Climate Week NYC for “(Re)Setting a U.S. Climate Mobility Policy Agenda” The conversation explored what a forward-looking U.S. approach to climate mobility could look like and how we can build policies that create safer, more accessible pathways for people affected by climate change. Thank you to the organizations that joined us for this important conversation: National Partnership for New Americans Human Rights First HAITIAN BRIDGE ALLIANCE Refugees International Natural Resources Defense Council (NRDC) Global Refuge Global Strategic Litigation Council Center for Gender & Refugee Studies (CGRS) U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI) Climate Refugees And thank you to everyone who joined us in New York and online, and to our speakers and partners for sharing their expertise and perspectives. #ClimateWeekNYC

Climate strategist and lawyer Joojin Kim spent years convincing banks across South Korea to stop funding coal, and it worked. Now he’s aiming that same playbook at a new target: maritime shipping, a hidden engine of the global economy — and one of the world’s dirtiest industries. In his TED Conferences Talk, Joojin breaks down how the whole system converges in Asia where 90% of ships are built, and why redirecting finance could transform it into a driver of a clean economy worldwide. Through their Audacious project, his team at Solutions for Our Climate (SFOC) is working to replace fossil fuels with green fuels, accelerate green steel adoption and block new liquefied natural gas carrier orders. In sub-Saharan Africa, millions of adolescent girls face the "triple threat" of unintended pregnancy, HIV and sexual violence. Tiko breaks down barriers like stigma, fragmented health services and high costs by connecting girls directly to free, high-quality contraceptive and HIV care, and trauma-informed support for survivors. Centering their model on each girl and her needs — and powered by peer mobilizers, community health workers and partnerships with public and private clinics — Tiko supports girls throughout their healthcare journey. With a blueprint for adolescent health across the region and in partnership with country governments, Tiko is scaling across six African countries to impact 3.5 million girls annually by 2030. Audacious grantee METR led the independent investigation into the recent Hugging Face attacks by OpenAI agents: roughly 1,200 "isolated" agents coordinated through an unsanctioned message board, and around 700 went on to jointly hack Hugging Face's infrastructure to fool the benchmark scorer — while hiding the evidence from human overseers. That coordinated deception is exactly why independent evaluation matters as models get better at working around instructions undetected. The fallout has been swift: Dario Amodei called for the industry to pace frontier development, committing Anthropic to giving third-party evaluators including METR far greater, ongoing access to its systems — a call Sam Altman and other key leaders in the space, agreed is needed. (https://lnkd.in/dRgpXJ8Y) METR has pioneered safety evaluation practices many frontier labs have since adopted. As a founding funder of Canary, METR's collaboration with RAND on dangerous-capability evaluation, Audacious is proud to have helped stand up this work — watchdogs like METR need to be built into AI training and deployment before a crisis hits, not scrambled into place after one.
