Testifying Before Senate on AI Transparency

It was an honor to testify in the U.S. Senate today before Chairman Hawley, Ranking Member Kim, and the subcommittee on METR's work, recent AI agent incidents, and the importance of transparency in frontier AI development. My written remarks are available here: https://lnkd.in/g9pTrzU3

Companies or organizations with ties to Anthropic and OpenAI should not be allowed to be their evaluators or auditors of any kind. Where is your integrity? While many of your employees are former employees of those companies.

The only safe way to develop AI is to stop developing language models. Nobody can analyze petabytes of data from a swarm of agents, nor can anyone understand what a model does internally.

Chris Painter, really valuable to have this on the record. One thing that stood out: the testimony itself only exists because OpenAI chose to share. Curious how you think about building visibility that doesn't rely on that choice being made the same way next time. PacSpace makes AI actions provable.

Continue educating our elected officials on the benefits and perils of AI.
