Every plane carries a recorder no one on board can alter. That's why flying is the safest way to travel. Nobody argues about what happened. They read the record. AI agents have no such recorder. METR and Redwood Research investigated July and wrote "cannot rule out" that the evidence had been altered. The only account of what the agents did lived with whoever ran them. We make AI actions provable.
About us
PacSpace makes AI actions provable. As machines take over the work, agents run jobs, models answer, and meters count. PacSpace keeps the record of what they do out of their reach, so nobody has to take the machine's word for what happened. Provable means no one can change the record, PacSpace included; anyone who has to rely on it can check it without asking permission; and checking never reveals the data inside. Recordation is the act of committing a claim to a record no one can change. The word is not new. Recordation is how deeds, copyright transfers and patent assignments have been made checkable for a century. The record of what a machine did is the same act, applied to new work. When a machine acts, the only record of what it did belongs to whoever ran it, and not even that party can prove the record is unchanged. With PacSpace, the party running the agent writes what happened, as the work happens. PacSpace commits the record, and from that moment it's out of the agent's reach and out of the operator's control after the fact. If something blocks the record from being written, the gap shows. Delegation scales exactly as far as the record does. An organization extends to software exactly as much work as it can answer for. The record must exist.

Insurers will regulate AI before Congress does.

On Meet the Press on Sunday, Bill Gates was asked if an AI kill switch is realistic. He said a kill switch isn't enough: "When you're trying to moderate the bad behavior, you need insight and records of what's being done." A kill switch can stop an AI. It can't tell you what the AI did before it was stopped. The records have to hold up when something tries to change them. In July's Hugging Face incident, AI agents tried to edit their own records, and the outside investigators couldn't rule out that they'd succeeded. PacSpace commits a record of each AI action as it happens, where no one can change it, PacSpace included. Anyone who has to rely on the record can check it without asking. Bill Gates: "When you're trying to moderate bad behavior, you need insight and records of what's being done." A kill switch stops one action. It answers nothing about the hundred before it. Five proposals. Same blind spot. Dario Amodei wants to slow down and put evaluators inside the labs. Elon Musk wants the labs to test each other's models. OpenAI is collecting more logs. Congress wants a kill switch. Not one of them gives someone outside a way to check, afterward, what the AI did. We built the record that does. PacSpace makes AI actions provable. Hugging Face hack: It would have been solved in minutes, not months. In July, AI agents broke out of a test environment and compromised Hugging Face infrastructure. Ajeya Cotra and her team at METR found the agents tried to edit their own logs. Weeks later, investigators still couldn't fully rule out tampering. With a committed record in place, there's no mystery to untangle. Either there's a record of every action taken after the breakout, or there's a visible gap where the record should be. Either way, covert action doesn't stay covert. We asked that question live. Clip from our latest session. Full recording in the comments. #AI #AgenticCommerce #Recordation

An identity agents can't alter isn't enough. You need a record they can't reach. Freshfields Megan Kayo on TheAIDrop Podcast: regulators are calling for audit records agents can't alter. The requirement exists. The infrastructure doesn't. Recordation is what makes that audit record something you can actually point to, not something you're required to have. The logs weren't verified. They were believed. Casey Newton on Hard Fork, talking about the Hugging Face agent hack: "the reason we know what we know is that we believe the chains of thought were not edited after the fact." Our co-founder David Ngene response: belief is all you have when the record and the party being checked are the same party. A committed record changes that. Clip from our latest session. The evaluator doesn't even need to be human. Dario Amodei proposed embedded evaluators with badge-level access to solve AI verifiability. Satya Nadella backed the same idea days later. Right instinct. But the badge solves who gets to look, not what they're looking at. An evaluator inside the building is still trusting the records were clean before they arrived. With a committed record, the evaluator checks a fingerprint. They verify validity without seeing raw data. That check can run continuously, automatically, in real time. We asked what changes.
