Our Royal Charter outlines what we do and how we're run. After more than 150 years, the charter is still being used, but we've made a few changes to keep it up to date.
The Board of Trustees is the main governing body of the Society responsible for the advancement of the Society's Objects, for its administration and for the management of its finances and property.
The Royal Aeronautical Society (RAeS) Council is the top-level consultative and advisory body of the Society, representing the views of the membership at large and offering advice to the Board of Trustees.
The President of the Society provides leadership of the Council and of the Society in pursuit of its Objectives. The President for 2026-2027 is Prof Malcolm Macdonald FRAeS.

The RAeS Strategy is developed and owned by the Society's Board of Trustees. The Board of Trustees regularly monitors progress against the strategic priorities and each year reviews the strategy and makes amendments if appropriate.
