"How to study probability in high and super-high dimensions in the future? (Solution to stochastic Beltrami equation with several complex variables)" Join us for the next Solomon Seminar at the Jožef Stefan Institute, where Dr. Andrej Srakar will present his research on one of the central open challenges in contemporary probability theory and its connections to artificial intelligence. 📅 14 October 2026 🕑 14:00 📍 Orange Room, Jožef Stefan Institute How to study probability in high and super-high dimensions in the future? Solution to stochastic Beltrami equation with several complex variables Random geometry has transformed modern probability and mathematical physics. A key example is Schramm–Loewner Evolution (SLE), which provides a stochastic description of random planar curves and connects probability, conformal geometry, statistical mechanics and field theory. Yet, there is currently no comparably established theory of SLE in dimensions greater than two. In his seminar, Dr. Srakar will present an approach based on stochastic solutions of Beltrami-type equations in several complex variables, interpreted as stochastic Kodaira–Spencer processes. He will discuss the mathematical structure and construction of these stochastic processes, key open research questions, and their potential study through knowledge discovery, mathematical statistics and AI-derived outputs. Dr. Andrej Srakar is a researcher at the Jožef Stefan Institute (IRCAI and E3 Department) and the School of Economics and Business, University of Ljubljana. His research spans probability theory and analysis and their connections with Bayesian statistics, causal inference, econometrics, cultural economics, symbolic data analysis and citizen science. Everyone interested is warmly invited to attend! #IRCAI #JSI #ArtificialIntelligence #AI #ProbabilityTheory #Mathematics #RandomGeometry #Research #ERC #SolomonSeminar

From AI principles to practical implementation On 28 September, #IRCAI co-organised the AI Policy Toolkit Roadshow with the OECD in Montevideo, on the sidelines of the 11th Ministerial Meeting of the OECD Latin America and Caribbean Regional Programme. The workshop was the first in a series of three under the AI component of the EU–LAC Digital Alliance. The Alliance’s work is supported through the EU’s Global Gateway strategy, connecting digital policy dialogue with practical cooperation across the two regions. Opening representatives from Uruguay, Costa Rica, Slovenia and the OECD emphasised a shared challenge: turning AI strategies and principles into action suited to each country’s needs. Participants then worked with the GPAI/OECD AI Policy Toolkit and exchanged experiences on implementation gaps, including financing, institutional coordination, skills and access to infrastructure. Their feedback will help refine the Toolkit and inform the next steps for cooperation. Thank you to our OECD colleagues, our hosts in Uruguay and all participants for bringing practical experience to the discussion. #IRCAI #OECD #EULACDigitalAlliance #GlobalGateway #AIPolicy

You are warmly invited to a flagship discussion organised by #IRCAI at the Frankfurt Book Fair, exploring the transformative impact of generative AI on culture and creativity. Where do we draw the line between human creativity and automation? How can society preserve trust in cultural production? What does the future hold for authors, artists and publishers? And how should AI-generated cultural content be identified? The discussion “Truth or Fiction?” brings together experts from different fields to explore these questions and the broader challenges of deep reading, trust and misinformation in the age of AI. Join us as on October 7th, from 16:30-17:30 CEST in Dialogue Stage, Hall 4.0, Foyer and discuss the future of creativity in the age of artificial intelligence. #IRCAI #FrankfurtBookFair #GenerativeAI #ArtificialIntelligence #Culture #Creativity #Publishing #AIandCulture #MediaLiteracy

🌍 The Jožef Stefan Institute hosted representatives of UNESCO, the European Commission, the Ministry of Foreign and European Affairs of the Republic of Slovenia and IRCAI for an exchange on science diplomacy and international cooperation, highlighting the role of scientific expertise and research infrastructure in responding to global challenges. 🤖 Particular attention was given to artificial intelligence and IRCAI’s role in bridging science, policy and international cooperation. IRCAI was represented by Mihajela Črnko, who contributed to the exchange on strengthening international collaboration around responsible and sustainable AI. A key message from the discussions: trust in emerging technologies starts with trust in science, researchers and evidence-based dialogue. Through science diplomacy, this trust can be transformed into meaningful partnerships that connect knowledge, institutions and people across borders. 🤝 #IRCAI #UNESCO #ScienceDiplomacy #ArtificialIntelligence #ResponsibleAI #AIGovernance #AIforSDGs #InternationalCooperation
