Portrait of Yulong Cao

I am Yulong Cao, a research scientist in NVIDIA’s Autonomous Systems and Physical AI Research (ASPIRE) Group, led by Marco Pavone. My research interests include trustworthy AI, alignment, and embodied AI systems. My research goal is to build secure and safe autonomous systems aligned with human values. I completed my Ph.D. in Computer Science and Engineering at the University of Michigan, advised by Morley Mao. Before that, I received B.S. degrees from both the University of Michigan and Shanghai Jiao Tong University. My Ph.D. work examined vulnerabilities in autonomous driving systems and ways to make them more robust.

Beyond research, I view photography as another lens through which to observe the world. Check out my gallery or the profiles below.
