Tuning `--max-connections` by hand is awkward: you have to guess a value, watch for retries, and re-tune for different times of day or different rate-limit tiers. The `--adaptive-connections` option does this for you. It starts at a moderate concurrency, grows while the provider keeps up, and backs off on rate-limit retries.
