Sometimes, all it takes is one hands-on experience to open new possibilities. At the beginning of July, a group of seven young people joined a pilot workshop in Crolles, France, with the Mission Locale du Grésivaudan and ST #STEM ambassadors. Using Mars Robot kits developed by Vittascience in collaboration with ST, they explored coding, robotics, and electronics through hands-on learning. Step by step, they tested ideas, solved problems, made mistakes, tried again, and saw their code come to life. This is what the Digital Unify program by ST Foundation stands for: not only access to technology, but access to skills, opportunity, and choice. This first workshop created connections, revealed talents, and inspired new ambitions. Our site in #Crolles, France, has achieved Alliance for Water Stewardship (AWS) certification, becoming ST's second certified manufacturing site. AWS encourages organizations to look beyond their own operations and understand their role within the wider water catchment. In Crolles, the certification process included assessing water-related risks and opportunities, working with local stakeholders, and collectively defining actions that support the resilience of the local watershed. It also brought together teams across the site with a common objective: advancing sustainable water management practices. While certification is an important step, the greatest value comes from the journey itself, building knowledge, strengthening partnerships, and establishing a framework for ongoing progress. This achievement contributes to our #sustainability goal to achieve AWS certification across our manufacturing sites by 2035. The experience gained in Crolles will help inform and support similar efforts across ST as other sites progress on their AWS certification journey.
