Throughout October, BGIS teams across Australia and New Zealand are recognising National Safe Work Month by taking time to strengthen the habits, knowledge and conversations that help keep our people safe every day.   At BGIS, Working Safer Together is one of our core values. This year's theme, Safe Work is For Life, is a reminder that safety is about more than the workplace. The choices we make at work can help protect us at home, on the road and in our communities.   Over the coming weeks, our teams will be focusing on a range of important topics including workplace safety, electrical and asbestos awareness, road safety, health and wellbeing, and practical ways to build safe habits that last a lifetime.   We'll also come together for BGIS Global Safety Day, connecting teams from around the world to share ideas, learn from one another and continue putting people first.   Thank you to everyone across our Australian and New Zealand operations who continue to make safety a priority every day.

Congratulations to Sophie Seymour, Facilities Manager on being a finalist in the Facility Management Association of Australia Industry Awards for Excellence 2026. As a young facilities professional, Sophie has rapidly established herself as a trusted advisor to senior stakeholders, demonstrating maturity, technical capability, and leadership well beyond her years. She is responsible for overseeing critical environments, including data centre resiliency, building shutdowns, AFSS compliance. We wish Sophie all the best for the awards night on 27 November.

Daniel Howard and Jeremy Cayford were very pleased to meet the inaugural recipient of the ASM CHILLTECH | BGIS Indigenous Student Scholarship in Melbourne. Kaylea Blake is a student enrolled in the Bachelor of Nursing / Bachelor of Midwifery course at La Trobe University’s Bendigo campus.     The Indigenous Student Scholarship program is designed to support students with financial assistance to empower them to pursue higher education and long-term career pathways.    ASM Chilltech and BGIS are committed to delivering positive social outcomes alongside technical excellence.
