Brave is a fast, private web browser that blocks ads and trackers on every site, automatically. No settings to change, no extensions to install.
Over 125 million people browse with Brave. It's free, open source, and independent — we don't sell your browsing data.
Everything below is built into the browser. One app, not a stack of them.
BLOCK ADS ON EVERY SITE
Brave Shields stops banner ads, pop-ups, autoplay interruptions, and the ads that play before and during videos. Same on news sites, shopping sites, forums and video pages — no per-site setup, no ad blocker extension. It dismisses cookie consent banners too, and it's on from your first tab.
PRIVATE BROWSING THAT BLOCKS TRACKERS
Private mode in most browsers only hides your history from your own phone. Brave blocks the cross-site trackers and fingerprinting scripts that follow you from a shopping page to your social feed, strips tracking codes from links you copy, and turns on Global Privacy Control by default.
SHRED: DELETE ONE SITE'S DATA, NOT ALL OF IT
Clearing browser data usually logs you out of everything. Shred deletes the cookies and storage for one site and leaves your other sessions intact. Set Auto Shred to run whenever you close a tab.
BRAVE SEARCH: A PRIVATE SEARCH ENGINE, BUILT IN
Brave Search is the default search engine in the browser, running on its own independent index — not resold results from Google or Bing. It doesn't profile you or log your searches. Ask Brave puts search results and AI answers in one place. Switch search engines any time.
BRAVE LEO: A FREE AI ASSISTANT
Summarise a long article, translate a page, or draft a reply without leaving the tab. Choose from several AI models. Leo doesn't record your conversations, share them, or use them to train models.
BRAVE NEWS: A FEED WITH NO PROFILE BEHIND IT
Personalise a news feed from hundreds of sources or any RSS feed with Brave News.
FASTER PAGES, LESS MOBILE DATA
Ads and trackers are most of what a modern page downloads. Blocking them means fewer requests, less data and less battery drain. We rebuilt Brave's ad blocking engine to use 75% less memory, so it stays responsive with many tabs open.
MAKE BRAVE YOUR DEFAULT BROWSER
Open Settings, scroll to Brave, choose Default Browser App. Every link you tap — from Mail, Messages or any app — opens with ad and tracker blocking already on.

I’ve tried several different browsers so far, including Safari with AdGuard, and so far Brave has the best ad-free experience. When compared to Opera, Brave seems far more reliable at fully blocking ads. Furthermore, when compared to Chrome and Safari, Brave properly uses the inbuilt iOS video player, rather than the HTML one which often has poor support for touch interfaces. Safari’s use of the HTML video player often leads to random skipping around because it doesn’t respond correctly to touch interactivity.Brave has the best balance of features I’ve seen on iOS of any browser. It’s best for video, and even great for reading with dark-mode. The only thing I can fault is that I wish I could sync my Chrome browser’s bookmarks and history with Brave.
Love this browser

I first switched to this on my Mac and I absolutely love Brave on Mac, amazing browser. It’s great on iOS but I have a few issues with the interface, some of the interface elements don’t seem the ideal size for touch but there’s one thing that I miss from Safari. Brave on Mac has a reading list like Safari but its missing from Brave for iOS, I used to use this all the time to put web pages in I want to return to but didn’t want to bookmark, on Safari I could access this on my phone. I used this allot for things like finding something in a store which had instore location info, which I would then pull up later when I was in physically in the store. I really miss having that. Not enough for me to go back though… :)
Absolutely incredible app‼️

I’ve been using Brave for about a month or so now and have loved it. Haven’t had a single issue at all from both the iPhone app and the Mac app on my laptop.Functionality is second to none and I honestly mean that. I’ve been a google chrome user since it was released and never thought I would use any other browser. For the last month I’ve been using Brave as an alternative to Chrome and I’m so impressed that i can’t recommend it more highly. Longtime Google Chrome users like myself struggle with using other browsers due to the difference in the interface and functionality of other browsers. However, Brave gives you the option to basically import your entire Chrome setup and layout onto the Brave browser. This gives users the comfort and ‘ease’ of using the Chrome layout, but also gain the added protection and security that Brave provides. (Btw, not having to manually import your entire Chrome bookmarks onto Brave is incredibly helpful)Seriously, I have been recommending Brave to everyone and anyone. Criminally underrated app. 10/10!!
I’m a big fan of Brave but
Lyle Kopez
Like the title says I’m a big fan of Brave and everything they stand for. Prioritising privacy, and making a fast an efficient browser that anyone can use. However I feel as if it’s somewhat counter-intuitive on IOS compared to the desktop version, and when compared to other mobile browsers, so I’ll be switching to Firefox for the meantime and will check back in regularly to see if my issues get addressed. First of all, the “find on page” function is hidden in such a strange place, underneath the “share” option. I’ve been building a PC recently and having to go through such a hassle just to make sure components will be compatible with each other. I just plain thought the feature was missing until I found it nestled away in there a few days ago. Compared to Firefox which has it two clicks away next to the URL bar. I also found Brave to be a little sluggish on IOS. On PC it’s blazing fast, but on mobile I find Firefox a lot faster. That could just be the Chromium roots of Brave shining through, iPhones typically don’t have a lot of RAM that’s for sure. But I’d love to see some optimisations come down the pipe especially for older phones (sporting an iPhone 7 here). Saving my passwords. Okay this is one that’s kind of a problem with all browsers wanting to save my passwords for me. I have a password manager for this, and I don’t like having a “save your password” message pop up on the same website even if I’ve said no a dozen times before. I did find a setting to disable this in the options but for some reason I still got the message. Maybe it’s user error, but it’s not a problem I’ve had with Firefox. So yeah, I love Brave and hope I can come back to it in the future. But for now it’s a healthy mix of Firefox and Tor.
