Infosys' recruitment process consists of three rounds: a Coding Assessment, a Technical Assessment focused on Data Structures and Algorithms, and a Technical + Behavioral Interview/HR Round. The Coding Assessment includes three questions of varying difficulty, while the Technical Assessment varies by role level, with increasing complexity for SE, SES, and PP positions. The final round assesses technical knowledge in areas like Core Java, Spring Boot, DBMS, and includes HR questions to evaluate communication skills and fit for the company.

Recruitment Process:

Infosys conducts 3 rounds to recruit new employees.

● Coding Assessment
● Technical Assessment:
● Technical + Behavioral Interview / HR Round:

Round 1 – Coding Assessment:

The technical assessment took place online through Infosys’ assessment
platform. It consisted of three coding questions—easy, medium, and hard
levels—with a generous time window of 3 hours.
Note
It is not compulsory for all test cases to run for each problem. The running of
following number of test cases is also enough.
Question 1: - All test cases. Question
2: 80 % of Test Cases Question 3:
75% of Test Cases.

Round 2 – Technical Assessment:

This round is also focus on Data Structure and Algorithm.

Some suggested Questions are ➖

Coding / DSA
● For SE
For SE they ask very common questions.
1. Prime Number, GCD
2. Reverse a Number
3. Reverse a string
4. Bubble Sorting
5. Reverse array
6. Fibonacci
7. Factorial of a number, and so on ( basically I gave u some rough idea)

● For SES
For SES they ask medium questions (included above too)
1. Prime Number (Sieve)
2. Pattern Printing
3. Fibonacci (without recursion)
4. Factorial (Without recursion)
5. Max contiguous subarray sum
6. Merge, Quick and Insertion Sort
7. BFS / DFS
● For PP
For PP they ask some advanced question too (included above too)
1. Revise all traversals (Zigzag, In, pre, post, level etc.)
2. Sum of all subarrays of an array
3. Reverse linked list
4. Find whether a loop in linked list 5. Find whether there is a cycle in graph
6. Implement AVL tree.
7. Coin change problem.
8. Heap Sort
9. Graph coloring Problem
10. shortest path in graph (if u don’t know implementation just tell them theory, Prim’s
and Kruskal)
11. Insertion and deletion in BST (U must write code)
12. All views of the Binary search tree.
13. Knapsack Problem
14. Water Trapping Problem
15. In order successor of given node in BST
16. Next smallest Palindrome
17. Array sum using recursion
18. Matrix rotation 90 degree.
Round 3: Technical + Behavioral Interview / HR Round:

The technical interview spanned a wide range of topics, including:

● Core Java: In-depth questions about programming concepts.

● Spring Boot and Microservices: Real-world applications and

working principles.

● DBMS (Database Management Systems): Understanding DBMS

and SQL Query.

● Algorithms and Problem-Solving: Walking through solutions step

by step.

Note: - The interviewer wasn’t just interested in correct answers; they

wanted to understand problem-solving approach.

Resources

1 . Core CS Subjects
For all of three u have to prepare core cs subjects like CN, OS, DBMS , Computer Architecture
Basics, OOPS , but how?

● Resources for OOPS (CPP, Python, Java )

This is very common they ask u on the basis of language u written in Resume.
`

● Resources for DBMS / MySQL

This subject is very important they ask anything either very easy or in very deep so
prepare well and especially SES and PP guys u have to be more careful.
`

● Resources for OS
This subject is also important they ask very few questions (rarely to SE) but high chances
for PP.
1. Mutex VS Semaphores, Deadlock (Most common)
`

● Resources for CN
Mostly they ask few questions for PP role.
1. Ipv4 VS Ipv6 , TCP/IP , UDP (Most common)

● Resources for Computer Architecture

They ask very few questions for PP role (rarely for SE and SES) 1.
What are Flip-Flops? (Most common, may be asked for all)
2. Revise Cache memory, pipelining etc.

● Resources for Software Engineering

They ask at least a question from this.
1. All software development models and cycles.

HR Specific This is the final round of the hiring process. Questions regarding

your resume, job, and company might be asked with basic HR questions like

‘What are your Career Goals?’, ‘Why Infosys?’ etc. They will check your
communication skills, confidence, and attitude. Be clear and confident with

your thoughts and you will ace this round easily.

Common questions

Powered by AI

Preparation in DBMS is crucial for SES and PP roles because Infosys assesses deep understanding in this area, testing both surface-level and in-depth knowledge. Expertise in DBMS indicates the candidate’s capability to handle complex data-driven responsibilities which are integral to these senior positions .

Candidates should demonstrate a thorough understanding of core Java programming concepts, real-world applications of Spring Boot and Microservices, and meticulous problem-solving approaches during the technical interview . Additionally, they should prepare for behavioral questions relating to resume details, career goals, and their motivation for joining Infosys. The focus should be on clarity and confidence during communication to effectively express problem-solving skills and personal attributes .

Candidates should be clear about their career goals, reasons for wanting to join Infosys, and other basic HR interview questions. They must prepare to highlight their communication skills, confidence, and how their past experiences align with the company's vision and role requirements .

Integration of core computer science subjects like algorithms, data structures, networks, OS, and DBMS into recruitment assessments demonstrates Infosys' strategy to hire candidates with a solid foundational understanding of computer science. This approach ensures that hires possess the necessary technical acumen to tackle real-world problems, aligning the candidate's proficiency with the organization’s technical demands .

Infosys tailors its technical assessment based on roles. For Software Engineers (SE), questions focus on basic programming tasks like prime numbers and bubble sorting. Senior Executive Staff (SES) candidates face medium-level challenges such as the Sieve of Eratosthenes and factorial calculations without recursion. For Principal Personnel (PP), advanced problem-solving is tested, including graph traversal, AVL trees, and shortest path algorithms .

Candidates should cultivate skills in advanced algorithmic thinking, recursive problem solving, and complex data structure manipulation to tackle questions on graph traversal, dynamic programming, and AVL tree implementation. Analytical thinking and the ability to synthesize multiple concepts are essential for excelling in these assessments .

The coding assessment evaluates a candidate’s problem-solving skills and technical capabilities. It includes coding challenges of varying difficulty levels, testing the candidate's ability to handle different complexities and assess partial completion to gauge efficiency and logical structuring .

Candidates should be prepared to discuss flip-flops, cache memory, and pipelining as these are the specific computer architecture topics highlighted for the interview. These topics are particularly crucial for the PP role and may be asked less frequently for SE and SES roles .

A candidate's problem-solving approach is crucial as it reflects their logical reasoning, adaptability to different scenarios, and efficiency in applying theoretical knowledge to practical problems. Infosys places a high value on not just the correctness of solutions but also the strategic methodologies employed to derive them .

Understanding network protocols, especially differences between IPv4 & IPv6 and TCP/IP vs. UDP, is important for the PP role as they may need to work on projects involving robust and secure network designs. Such knowledge demonstrates a candidate’s readiness to manage and optimize network-related tasks, showcasing a holistic comprehension of modern communication systems .
