It took a little while, but I'm really on board with Posit's RStudio-replacement Positron. It's basically just VS-Code but fixes all the parts of VS-Code that make it bad specifically for data science. I generally agree with the idea that Python is the second-best language for lots of things, which is a good thing, but R remains my go-to for quick data work and statistics. Maybe just because it's more familiaR. However enjoying being able to combine data work and development work in a single IDE, and R-native ipynb are very neat.

I had the pleasure of attending Posit::Conf this year for the second time. Last year, I came as a staff member and met many folks at the Positron Lounge. This year, I came as a speaker (my first conference talk!). I had the opportunity to *also* give a lightning talk, demoing the latest SQL features in Positron I've been working on - a special sneak preview for Conf attendees. I'm excited to share that we're working hard to bring next-level SQL support to Positron over the next few releases, including dialect-aware linting, schema-aware code completions, and tight integration with `ggsql` to run SQL queries just like you'd run Python or R code. Keep an eye out over the coming months as these features begin to land in Positron!
