Smaller courts are seeing more documents written with AI chatbots. They look legal, but they often miss the sources that actually decide cases. Pandektes is building the fix underneath: the law itself, collected and organised so people and AI tools can rely on it. Today it has more than 500 customers and a fresh €13.5M Series A led by Alstin Capital. "Building a company like this requires relentlessness, belief and dedication," said Casper Laursen. We spoke to founders Casper B. Laursen and Søren Brokær for a TNW exclusive about trust, their first customer and what opening up the law should really mean. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dBt9ZfPt

UK venues banned them. New York barred them from courtrooms. Norway now plans a temporary ban on AI glasses in public places. Parks, museums, schools, gyms and doctors' offices could all be covered. The digitalisation minister says people risk being recorded without knowing. Private use would stay legal, and a total ban is not planned. A bill goes to a minority parliament as soon as possible. An expert group will advise on permanent rules for wearables. 4 AI companies testify under oath in New York on Monday. OpenAI is one of them, and Sam Altman has been talking about risk. The world should accept some bad things for the benefits, he said. He would not trade those gains for a promise of no hacks. The worst risks stay off the table, including loss of control. He says OpenAI and Anthropic still differ significantly on rules. Anthropic says its proposed rules cover frontier models only. Read more: https://lnkd.in/d994G3Qb

3rd name this year, prompted by a federal style guide. SpaceX bought xAI in February and renamed it SpaceXAI on 6 July. Musk now says the unit will become SpaceXSI. Trump's order tells federal agencies to say super intelligence instead. No date has been given, and the account still shows the old name. A legal definition of SI is due within 60 days. The order binds agencies, not the companies following it. Read more: https://lnkd.in/d6gGsU-R

Mistral raised €3B and plans no slowdown at all. Arthur Mensch says the US safety debate covers rivals' negligence. He did not name the competitors he meant. The lead held by US labs is not extremely large, he said. Mistral's next model should close that gap very significantly. The company gives business customers monitoring systems for their agents. A European lab is betting the opposite way to its rivals. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dxZDwsES

Bots don't click on ads, and they passed humans in May. Matthew Prince expects automated traffic to reach 1,000 times human traffic. He says his own earlier forecasts were all too conservative. Cloudflare sits in front of more than 20% of the web. It wants agents to pay a fraction of a penny per page. In AI licensing, Reddit earns 7 to 14 times more per token than the NYT. Thirty years of advertising built a web that bots ignore. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dkfqa3r2

175 million views went to a post about AI killing everyone. Jacob Coxon wrote it after leaving Anthropic this month. UK AI minister Kanishka Narayan was asked about the warning. Take worried lab staff seriously, he said, while playing down extinction. His focus is cybersecurity and rising biochemical risk today. Testing is good but clearly insufficient, he added. The UK wants to shape AI principles at next year's G20. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dHWw7H76

AI is 10% of everyone's job and nobody's responsibility. Spreading it thin gives nobody a reason to make time. Zapier writes 30% to 40% of the job into its transformation roles. It removes that share of the person's other duties. The pitch that works is relief, not efficiency. Ask what people hate about their job, not how to save time. Protected time survives only when results get marketed upward. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dVDXYtPg

Russia launched 16 satellites. Service starts past 250. Rassvet is Russia's answer to Starlink, built by Bureau 1440. Zelensky has asked Trump to sanction the firms behind it. He says the network could be working by early next year. The company has pointed to 2027 and already delayed once. Satellite links now carry troop and drone communications. Neither the White House nor SpaceX has commented publicly. Read more: https://lnkd.in/dJQGtNZS

LeCun calls doom warnings the worst marketing campaign imaginable. He says extinction talk from Amodei and Altman hurts the public and the industry. The recent rogue agent incidents were totally preventable, in his view. Sandboxes were leaky and badly designed, he says, not the agents at fault. He worries about regulatory capture rather than extinction. He left Meta after 12 years to build AMI Labs in Paris. Two Turing-level views of the same technology now sit far apart.
