  • Every growing organization has a story, a milestone to celebrate and a goal that’ll shape what comes next.   Today’s Business Game Changer is Nicole L Williams, Ed. S, MA of Faith Christian Academy in Plant City. Nicole shares their biggest win this year and the next game-changing goal the organization is working toward.   Through our support of the Tampa Bay Chamber Foundation’s Tampa Bay Business Accelerator and our partnership with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, we’re celebrating local organizations and the people leading their growth.

  • A career in the trades can open the door to decades of learning and growth. Jose Manzano joined Tampa Electric as a meter reader 27 years ago. Today, he’s a meter technician whose career reflects dedication, continuous learning and service to customers. On National Tradesmen Day, we’re recognizing Jose’s journey and the many skilled trades professionals who help keep our communities powered.

  • On the 25th anniversary of the September 11 attacks, we pause to remember those who lost their lives, honor the first responders who answered the call, and recognize all who served in the days, months and years that followed. We also hold in our thoughts the survivors, families and loved ones whose lives were forever changed. Today, Tampa Electric joins communities across the country in remembrance.

  • What a valuable event and meaningful conversation about Florida’s energy future. Thank you to Florida's Women in Energy Leadership Forum for bringing industry leaders together to exchange ideas, share perspectives and explore what’s next. Shout out to Chip Whitworth and Katie Guice for representing Tampa Electric in panel discussions to share how we’re optimizing efficiency, controlling costs and delivering value while meeting the changing needs of the customers and communities we serve.

I was honored to take part in this year’s Florida's Women in Energy Leadership Forum, where participants shared insights centered on the event’s EVOLVE! theme. I joined my esteemed colleagues and fellow energy leaders for the forum and had the opportunity to serve on the “Energy Evolved to Meet Future Load and Affordability” panel discussion. It was great conversation on how our industry is preparing for growing energy needs while continuing to deliver reliable service to customers and keeping affordability at the center of our decisions. Thank you to Florida’s Women in Energy Leadership Forum for inviting me to share Tampa Electric’s perspective on the investments, innovation and planning needed to meet Florida’s evolving energy future.

  • We're honored to share this recognition of leadership, teamwork and support for those who serve. Thank you, Ryan Hinds, for your service to our country and for recognizing the people-first culture Karen Sparkman and Tampa Electric foster in support of military members and their families.

Yesterday, I had the privilege of receiving the Patriot Award from Ryan Hinds, a longtime team member, military reservist, and someone I am proud to call part of our TECO family. As Ryan shared his remarks, I was incredibly touched. He spoke about the support he received each time he left for reserve duty and each time he returned, knowing his job would be here waiting for him. He talked about the accommodations that were made for training, deployments, and service commitments, and what that support meant to him and his family. But if there's one thing I want everyone to know, this award does not belong to me. It belongs to an organization that believes people matter. It belongs to our CEO, whose leadership creates the space for all of us to lead with courage, compassion, and humanity. It belongs to our Call Center Director, Managers, Supervisors, and all other leaders who step up every day to support our teams and put people first. It belongs to the frontline employees who willingly carry an extra load and hold down the fort whenever Ryan is away serving our country. And it belongs to every person who helped make Ryan's return something special - after each deployment. One of my favorite traditions has been watching the front-line teams plan for Ryan's return home to the contact center. We wanted Ryan to know that while he was serving our country, he was missed, appreciated, and supported by his work family. Supporting our service members should never be about doing the minimum required. For us, it is a privilege. It is one small way to say thank you for the sacrifices they and their families make on behalf of all of us. I've often said that culture is not what's written on a wall. Culture is how people show up for one another. It's what happens when someone needs support and others step forward without being asked. That's what I see every day at TECO. Ryan, thank you for your service, your commitment, and for this humbling recognition. I accept it on behalf of an entire organization that believes in taking care of its people and on behalf of the many leaders and teammates who played a role in supporting you throughout your military service. This award may have been presented to me, but it belongs to all of us. #TECO #TampaElectric #ESGR

  • A patch today could spark a future STEM career️!    During the 2025-2026 Girl Scout year, 2,086 Girl Scouts of West Central Florida earned the TECO Solar Power Patch. To date, 3,594 Girl Scouts have completed the curriculum and earned the patch.    Through hands-on projects and real-world learning, participants explore how sunlight becomes electricity, how solar energy helps power homes and businesses, and the role it plays in a complete energy portfolio.    The program also introduces young minds to career opportunities in energy, engineering, environmental science and technology, helping Girl Scouts connect today’s curiosity with future possibilities. We’re proud to partner with Girl Scouts of West Central Florida to make solar energy education and STEM career exploration more accessible to the next generation!    #STEMEducation #SolarEnergy #STEMCareers #TampaElectric
