Last week, PPHC hosted Beyond the Hill: A Lobbying 101 Experience, a half-day introduction to the world of commercial lobbying and public affairs at FIU in Washington, D.C.'s campus. This event included a fireside chat and two panels, where attendees heard directly from senior executives and emerging lobbyists about the business of lobbying, building a career in the industry, making the transition from the Hill to a firm, and finding a niche across the field’s diverse career pathways. The program concluded with a networking reception, giving attendees the opportunity to connect with public affairs and lobbying professionals and ask questions about their careers. Many thanks to our speakers, events team, and especially the attendees for joining us for an afternoon of candid conversations and connections Beyond the Hill.

Many firms compete. Ours choose to collaborate and the result is expertise no single agency could offer alone.  Energy colleagues from across the PPHC family, including TrailRunner International, Lucas Public Affairs, Crossroads Strategies, KP Public Affairs, and FTP, brought "Cocktails & Conversations: The Future of Energy Innovation" to life for more than 50 leaders across the energy and technology sectors during #ClimateWeekNYC this week.  Jessyca Sheehan, who helps lead PPHC's energy practice, welcomed the room before moderator Kelly Wallace led a discussion with Kasparas Spokas of Clean Air Task Force, Evan Polisar of General Atomics, Kelly Trice of AtkinsRéalis, and Jim Creevy of ABB. The conversation revealed three critical insights about the future of energy: 1. Early public funding speeds up early-stage planning. 2. Policy certainty is what unlocks capital for emerging tech 3. Community engagement, especially for data centers, is now the biggest factor shaping timelines. #ClimateWeekNYC #EnergyInnovation #PublicAffairs #PPHC

One year ago, Pine Cove Strategies joined the PPHC family. As we recently gathered for our team retreat, it was a great opportunity to reflect on everything we’ve built together in year one and look ahead to what’s next. This first year has really been about one thing: building the right team to serve our clients in a thoughtful, collaborative, and tailored way. We’ve focused on: • Building a cohesive team culture where collaboration, accountability, and client service come first  • Leaning into our expertise to help clients navigate complex regulatory and policy challenges with practical, actionable solutions  • Delivering highly customized, engaged client service grounded in trusted relationships We’re proud of the culture we’re building at Pine Cove Strategies and grateful for our team - the people behind the trusted connections and strategic solutions our clients count on. Thank you to our clients, partners, and colleagues for making our first year as part of the PPHC family such a rewarding one. We’re excited for what’s ahead as we continue to grow, deepen our impact, strengthen relationships, and help clients unlock new opportunities and navigate what’s next.

We are pleased to welcome The Advocacy Partners (TAP) to the PPHC family. For more than two decades, TAP has built one of Florida's most respected government relations practices, serving a blue-chip client base through deep bipartisan relationships and senior-level expertise across the legislative, executive, regulatory, and procurement landscape. This acquisition significantly strengthens PPHC's national state government relations platform and establishes a leading position in Florida, one of America's fastest-growing and most consequential policy markets. Together with our existing capabilities across the country, including California, Texas, and MultiState's nationwide network, we are continuing to build a coast-to-coast state government affairs offering designed for a policy environment where decisions are increasingly being made at the state level. Most importantly, we are adding an exceptional team that will work hand-in-hand with the rest of the PPHC platform to deliver when clients need them most. We are excited that Slater W. Bayliss, Stephen Shiver, and their colleagues will continue to lead TAP and build upon the culture, relationships, and client service that have made the firm so successful. Service. Inspiration. Passion. Congratulations to our President Cassandra Walker Pye for her recognition as the Nonprofit Board Chair of the Year by Sacramento Business Journal's Corporate Citizenship Awards. Cassandra was recognized for her outstanding leadership and impact on the Street Soccer USA board, a position she has served in for 11 years. As Lisa Wrightsman puts it "We couldn't be more grateful for Cassandra's personal commitment to our ambitious mission at Street Soccer USA and the impact she has made. When Cassandra joined the board, SSUSA was hosting open practices in parking lots. Today, SSUSA Sacramento has a permanent facility, three SSUSA courts at schools and programming that extends to 30 low-income schools." 👏 Congratulations, Cassandra! 👏

Yesterday in Washington, three of the premier government affairs firms in the country — and three members of the PPHC family — came together on one stage. Alpine Group Partners, Crossroads Strategies, and FTP co-hosted a panel previewing the 2026 midterm elections, examining the issues shaping key races and what the results could mean for federal policy in 2027 and beyond. The conversation featured: Keenan Austin Reed, Chief Executive Officer, Alpine Group Mathew Lapinski, Chief Executive Officer, Crossroads Strategies Libby Greer, Partner & Head of Government Relations, FTP Doug Usher, Ph.D. Usher, Partner & Head of Insights, FTP It's not every day you get this depth of experience and bipartisan insight in one room: shared perspective, collective expertise, and a clearer view of what's ahead for clients navigating Washington. Thank you to everyone who joined us, to FTP for hosting in their new office space, and to our panelists for a sharp, wide-ranging discussion.
