The Office of Administration hosted the annual Missouri State Employees Charitable Campaign (MSECC) Golf Tournament at Oak Hills Golf Center in Jefferson City. Today’s event gathered 24 teams comprised of current, retired, and former State of Missouri team members. Awards were presented for the longest putt and the top-performing team, which received the Commissioner’s Cup. Congratulations to all the winners! Thank you to OA Commissioner Kurt Schaefer, OA Deputy Commissioner Jess Klaus, MSECC Chairman Lieutenant Governor David Wasinger, and OA MSECC Coordinator Teresa Byrd for their support. This event raised money for MSECC, our dedicated fundraising initiative, providing State of Missouri team members with an opportunity to support their preferred charities. October is National Disability Employment Awareness Month (NDEAM). Each year, OA's Office of Equal Opportunity hosts a celebration to recognize this important observance. As OA Commissioner Kurt Schaefer shared during yesterday's event, "This celebration allows us to reflect on how far we have come as a state, while also acknowledging the continued progress that is required to sustain partnerships, awareness, and action. Because this is not a one-month effort, it's an ongoing responsibility to ensure everyone can thrive in a career that's meaningful to them." Attendees were deeply moved by the powerful information and stories shared by the speakers, especially those highlighting disabilities that may be less visible but equally challenging. We encourage all team members to take a moment this month to complete the related survey and to continue supporting and uplifting one another, because you never know what someone may be navigating.

Participants were selected across all executive departments and elected offices to strengthen their leadership skills and enhance public service. This year's months-long curriculum focused on government efficiency and innovation, constituent services, fiscal stewardship, and resource optimization. A key highlight was the development of capstone projects aligned with Governor Kehoe's MO GREAT priorities (Missouri Government Responsibility, Efficiency, Accountability, Transformation).
