  • 600,000 acres of Montana prairie. Bison. Big skies. Very, very few neighbours. American Prairie is one of the wildest places you can camp, and it’s bookable on Hipcamp. The nonprofit is working to conserve this incredible stretch of Montana grassland, while inviting people to experience it for themselves. With three backcountry huts and two campgrounds, Hipcamp campers can spend the night somewhere very few people ever get to explore. • Hipcampout 2026! Last week, our global team came together for Hipcampout, a few days of valuable in-person time, connection and a lot of fun. As a WFA company, our team is often working from campsites, home offices and all around the world. Hipcampout brought together teammates from the UK, Australia, Canada and across North America, giving us the chance to step away from our screens and spend some proper time together. A huge thank you to our Founder & CEO, Alyssa Ravasio, for continuing to invest in our team and create opportunities like this. And a very special thank you to Kiara C. and Kelly Goodall from our People team for all the work that went into making Hipcampout happen. It takes a lot behind the scenes to bring a global team together. Finally, thank you to everyone who travelled to be there. It was pretty special having so many of us in one place.

  • We're so proud of the Hipcamp team! Thanks for everything you do, Michal Rosenoer.

I was honored to speak at two incredible conferences in California this week for policy, rural recreation, and agricultural leaders -- the Rural County Representatives of California Annual Convening and the UCANR California Agritourism Summit. Outdoor recreation is changing fast -- local governments have the opportunity to leverage new trends to sustain their agricultural communities, expand outdoor access, and conserve private land. Interested? Message me and we'll chat!

  • A note from our CEO.

“Many successful businesses lose their souls in less than a decade. Hipcamp has avoided this.” I've been building Hipcamp for over a decade, and this is one of the most meaningful articles anyone has ever written about us. Notably, Miles didn’t reach that conclusion by interviewing me or hearing our company story. We’d never even spoken. He reached it by Hipcamping 🏕️ He found a $15 site beside a lake in Maine. He found a tent site by the Connecticut River in New Hampshire and ended up at an impromptu bluegrass concert with his Host. He booked a meadow in Vermont—then discovered it belonged to an old friend he hadn’t seen in years. That’s the real magic of Hipcamp ✨ We don’t have a shortage of beautiful places to camp. We have a shortage of access to them. Hipcamp has always been about more than unlocking land. It’s about getting off our screens and connecting directly with the beauty and magic of our planet—whether that means soaking solo in a river beneath a waterfall or jamming under a full moon with new friends you might never have met otherwise. Growth matters, a lot. But preserving that soul as we grow matters just as much. Thank you, Miles, for seeing it—and to the Hosts who create this magic every day. We love being called the outdoor travel industry’s best-kept secret. Though, to be clear, we’d be very happy if you helped us with the “secret” part. Boston Globe Media

  • We’re hiring at Hipcamp! Join the team. We’re looking for Local Host Advocates in both Oahu, Hawaii and the Bay Area to help us build a new field sales channel for Hipcamp. This is a hands-on, relationship-driven role for someone who knows their local agriculture and farming community and loves connecting people with new opportunities. You’ll be: • Building relationships with farmers, ranchers and landowners • Finding and developing new Host opportunities • Visiting properties and meeting landowners in person • Reaching prospects who may never enter our digital sales funnel • Representing Hipcamp at local agricultural and community events • Sharing local insights to help us grow in the market We’re looking for someone entrepreneurial, self-motivated and great at building genuine relationships. Most importantly, you’ll need to have deep connections and credibility within the local farm/agriculture community. It’s an exciting opportunity to help landowners generate new income from their property while helping more people discover incredible places to camp.
