Today we're announcing our partnership with AIGA New York to teach working designers how to actually use AI in their practice.
Creatives almost never learn a creative tool from the company that makes it. They learn it from other creatives.
AI broke that pattern. The tools arrived faster than anyone could teach them, so most creative teams are now getting a mandate to "figure out AI" with no curriculum and no time. The people who make the work have been teaching themselves on nights and weekends.
And the gap is uneven. Big studios and brands can afford to train their teams. Freelancers, small shops, and in-house teams of one usually can't. Every creative deserves this education, not just the ones with a training budget behind them.
AIGA NY has been leading the conversation about AI inside the design profession for years, and designers trust them to hold the field to a high standard. We've spent the last two years building FLORA alongside working creatives. Together, we're putting the training back where it belongs: in the hands of the design community.
Starting October 13: six free, hands-on labs with AIGA NY, usage included, each built around a real design job– from logo and type to motion to codifying a brand system. You'll leave with workflows you made yourself. Taught by creatives, for creatives.
Creatives should decide how AI fits into creative work, and that begins with access and education. Thanks to Stacey Panousopoulos, Justin Wong, and AIGA NY for leading the way.
