The next step in plant-derived ingredient innovation.  We've reached an important milestone in our collaboration with BioHarvest Sciences, demonstrating that its Botanical Synthesis™ platform is capable of producing the targeted next-generation sweetening solution. The platform uses plant cell culture to produce high-value, plant-derived compounds without growing the plant itself. It has the potential to support more sustainable access to valuable ingredients, while improving consistency and supply reliability and reducing dependence on traditional agricultural production methods.    By combining Tate & Lyle's expertise in sweetening and formulation with BioHarvest's innovative technology, we're advancing science-led innovation designed to broaden the range of sweetening solutions available to food and beverage manufacturers. Because the future of sweetness will require more choice, more flexibility, and more innovation. • As clean-label expectations rise, long ingredient lists can make it harder to meet consumer preferences. Here is how to embrace clean label with NUTRAVA® Citrus Fiber: \ One recognisable food ingredient replaces multiple unfamiliar ingredients, for a shorter, simpler label. \ Backed by proprietary consumer research showing strong and superior purchase likelihood compared to unfamiliar ingredients. \ Upcycled from citrus peels, a by-product of the juice industry, and the first citrus fibre to earn third-party Upcycled Certified®* status. Clean label by nature. Versatile by design. It combines water binding, texturising and emulsification in one ingredient consumers can understand. A citrus fibre that shortens and cleans your label, without compromise. • Exploring how combining fibres can help deliver a better consumer experience. We're looking forward to the 9th International Conference on Dietary Fibre 2026, where Ginevra Rosso, Tate & Lyle's Nutrition Associate Principal Scientist, will present a poster exploring how combining fibres with different fermentation characteristics may help improve both functionality and gastrointestinal tolerance. The review suggests that blends of rapidly and slowly fermentable fibres can support a more balanced fermentation profile throughout the colon, with the potential to improve comfort while maintaining the benefits of fermentation. If you're attending the conference, be sure to stop by and connect with Ginevra. #DietaryFibre2026 #FibreScience #GutHealth #NutritionScience #ScienceSolutionsSociety

  • Helping students explore the future of food. What does a career in food science actually look like? Recently, students from the Chicago High School for Agricultural Sciences spent the day at our Hoffman Estates, US, Customer Innovation and Collaboration Centre, gaining hands-on experience with the science behind food through activities including chocolate emulsions, cracker formulation and sensory product mapping. Supporting education is an important part of our commitment to building thriving communities. By 2030, we aim to support the education of more than 125,000 children and students through learning programmes and grants, helping them attain skills for life. Experiences like this bring that commitment to life, helping young people build skills, broaden horizons and explore future career opportunities. Thank you to the Tate & Lyle team in Hoffman Estates who shared their time and expertise. #BuildingThrivingCommunities #Purpose #FoodScience #STEM #ScienceSolutionsSociety

  • Shoppers are looking for better value. They're not willing to compromise on the foods they enjoy. Research shows that 41% of consumers have switched retailers to find better prices¹, while 45% of store-bought pasta sauce users in the US say price is the most important factor when purchasing². And when it comes to tomato sauce, consumers still expect the taste, texture and eating experience they grew up with. That's creating a challenge for manufacturers: how do you reduce cost when consumers still expect the same great experience? For one tomato sauce manufacturer, we helped unlock: \ Up to 20% formulation cost savings \ Reduced exposure to raw material price volatility \ Maintained texture and mouthfeel \ A shorter, cleaner ingredient list using consumer-recognisable ingredients The result? A more affordable formulation without compromising what matters most to consumers. Want to learn more about this solution? • #WorldHeartDay: Small changes can make a big difference. Cardiovascular disease remains the leading cause of death globally, accounting for more than one-third of adult deaths worldwide. The good news? Some of the key risk factors are within our control, including diet. This World Heart Day, Clare Leonard, Tate & Lyle's VP Global Nutrition & Health Science, highlights the important role fibre can play in supporting heart health. Diets rich in fibre, whole grains, fruit and vegetables can help reduce the risk of cardiovascular disease, while increasing fibre intake may also help improve important risk factors such as blood cholesterol levels. At Tate & Lyle, we're focused on making healthy food tastier and tasty food healthier. Through ingredient innovation and reformulation, we can help manufacturers increase fibre in everyday foods without compromising taste or texture, helping consumers make positive changes that fit into their daily lives. Because when it comes to heart health, small changes can make a big difference. #WorldHeartDay #HeartHealth #NutritionScience #Fibre #FoodInnovation #HealthAndWellbeing

Reflections from New York Climate Week: From climate ambition to action. This week, during New York Climate week, Anna Pierce, Tate & Lyle's Director of Sustainability, joined industry leaders at Sustainability LIVE to discuss the future of sustainable supply chains. Her key takeaway? Businesses already know enough to act. The focus now is on building resilience, strengthening collaboration and turning ambition into practical action. Read Anna's reflections below ⬇️ #SustainabilitySeptember #NYClimateWeek #ClimateAction #Sustainablity #ScienceSolutionsSociety

Climate Week NYC reinforced that building sustainable supply chains is no longer just a sustainability ambition. It's a business imperative that underpins resilience, performance, and long-term value creation. I had the pleasure of joining fellow panelists Indrani de Silva, MBA, Marissa Saretsky, Sean Jones, Maurice Loosschilder and Charlie Tan at Sustainability LIVE to discuss how businesses are building supply chains that can deliver sustainability alongside resilience and performance. The energy and engagement from attendees reinforced just how important this topic has become. The discussion extended well beyond the panel itself, prompting valuable conversations throughout the event. Here are a few of the key themes and reflections I took away from those discussions.

  • Mid-Autumn Festival: Preserving tradition, meeting modern preferences 🥮 Mid-Autumn Festival is a traditional Chinese festival also know as the Moon or Mooncake Festival. It's a time for family reunions, sharing mooncakes and celebrating traditions that have been passed down through generations. The festival remains an important cultural occasion across Asia and beyond. In China alone, industry estimates suggest around 300,000 tonnes of mooncakes are produced for the Mid-Autumn Festival season each year, demonstrating the enduring popularity of this iconic food. At the same time, consumer preferences are evolving. As more people look for lower-sugar and healthier options, food manufacturers are exploring new ways to deliver the taste, texture and quality consumers expect during the Festival while supporting changing nutritional needs. In this video, Isaac Kok Sheng Goh, Technical Service Manager shares how Tate & Lyle's solutions can help manufacturers create sugar reduced mooncakes that retain moisture, deliver a great eating experience and help extend shelf life. Need help reformulating much loved favourites?
