Agentically Compiled Catalog of Stress and Tone

Word stress and tone in 6,043 languages, taken from the published descriptions. Claude compiled the entries from the sources and they were then checked in several rounds; every entry quotes the passage it is based on, so you can check it yourself. Also here: the bibliography of those sources, and a calculator for stress typologies.

For each language: the kind of stress system, which syllables are stressed at each word length, the exceptions, the domain the rule applies to, and the tone system if there is one. Every entry quotes the passage it comes from.

Every work we know of on each language's stress or tone: what it says, whether we have read it, and where to get it (free online, behind a paywall, or in a library). The whole list can be downloaded as a spreadsheet.
